Just call me Gali, the Binukid term for a “man” or male friend. I am a true-blue Bukidnon resident. I pay homage to the province’s proud tradition of independence and reliability, always a podium for interconnectedness in the Island of Mindanao. In this blog I hope to start an interconnectedness of Bukidnon people in and out of the province as of now. I hope to link with place blogs of LGUs, NGOs, and other groups and indivisuals from Bukidnon’s 20 towns, two cities, and 464 barangays. I would like to link with existing blogs on Bukidnon, too. This is not exactly a definitive blog on Bukidnon, but one that would be enough to show to others that we can blog about our place even with the least of resources. I invite public information officers of LGUs, corporations, and other groups to blog and interconnect with “Bukidnon Our Home”. Ciao! Keep coming back.

hi! i’m just wondering if the binukid tribe and the bukidnon tribe are the same? thanks!

  5. Hi Gel,

Probably I could save some of Gali’s precious time by personally responding to your question.

Seriously, there is a misunderstanding here. Bukidnon is the tribe. Binukid is the language.

    I am a full-blooded Bukidnon and I speak Binukid.

Hope this will clarify some confusion. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you could think of any other question regarding my tribe.

    BEst regards

i was hoping if you could tell me something more about Sitio Kibulao, Cawayan, Lantapan Bukidnon. I mean, is it a safe place to start an agricultural business? I dont know anyone from Bukidnon so I trust that you’d be able to assist me with this inquiry. Id appreciate if you could also email me pictures of the place. Thanks.

  6. Hi Nina,

Since Gali Walter hasn’t given you info. yet on Cawayan, I will try to chip in some info. what I remembered. Since I only visited the place when I was still in high school (late 60s) and have been in the US for more than 15 years, I still am not sure of the peace and order situation there. However, climate in Cawayan is cold. Well, it’s not as cold as winter, but it’s very good for agriculture. The parents of my late sister-in-law have potato and vegetable farm during that time. It’s almost close to the Kitanglad range.

Hope Gali Walter or anybody who swings by this blog would chip in some info to satisfy you.

  7. I have a family in Calao-Calao, Don Carlo, Bukidnon. I love the place. I already have a property there and I plan to eventually retire there once I’ll get tired of working here in the Kingdom of the Sands.

hey, your website is pretty amazing but i was expecting a recent info or posting. hope you maintain this site and includes the latest developments in the whole province of bukidnon. its nice to know whats happening in my beloved bukidnon. i am now in london and just browsing, maybe you could have more tags or anything that will allow this site to come up when we type in bukidnon. sorry im not really an internet genius but this is brilliant! keep it up…many thanks

  8. Hi Ms. Ladette,

It’s a good news some people like you write back to tell us about this. It is heart warming.

My apologies for the lack of updates. I’m working out a plan to keep regular updates posted.

It’s pretty busy at work now.

In the mean time, get regular headline updates of events/issues on Bukidnon on Twitter.com.

Search for “Bukidnon News” and follow Central Mindanao Newswatch there.

    Thanks,
    Best
    Gali
